I haven’t finished many posts lately, but I have been deploying small style updates the last few weeks.

I had updated the background of the header/menu a while ago with this vector leaf pattern, and changed the highlight colors from a green palette to a pink one. Then I changed it to cover the whole homepage.

It was actually the pink in this image that inspired the color change. I’ve removed drop-shadows from images, as they did not look as good in dark mode. I rarely use dark mode (bad eyes) so it sometimes gets neglected.

I’ve also updated the aside element with the same striped background I’ve had on the menu items for a while. The previous iteration was a vector OS window frame, which was a little heavy-handed.

I tweaked the post and page footers as well.
I added more links the blogroll and about pages. I used the robot to improve the build times of the site, mostly via fixing up my hand-written plugins and liquid tags, something I immediately added a disclaimer about to the top of colophon. I’m including the screenshots above mostly for the benefit of future-me, so he does not have to go to the Internet Archive to remember what the heck I’m talking about.
Screenshots via Equinox, which I discovered today via Nick Simson’s Notes, who I discovered on today’s Homebrew Website Club - Writing Edition, which was delightful as always; I’m happy to have noticed it was happening (just a couple of days ago); thanks again to James for hosting. Both the work done behind the scenes on our sites and meta-blogging were mentioned/discussed, which might have motivated me to post this.
I’ve also been going through a large backlog of old posts not included in this site’s archive, which results in posts like Over the Rhine Record Review, 2001 and Art for Art’s Sake, and random almost-footnotes like in It May Not Be Much Light but it Beats the Darkness pointing to posts I’m injecting straight into the archive.
